Michele Ladd showed her love with her non profit National Veteran Resources and supported us in a way we never could have expected. She put together a surprise to help our family heal and grow stronger. A break in life we needed after the constant go of being a military family. Michele was surprising a Military family and donated some money. Unknown to our family it was for us.
We honestly were feeling tensions like none other at this point in our life, and Michele knew this. She told us about this dream like sounding place, and we could stay for a period of time. We got to go and Michele paid for our gas, food and we had extra left over. Camp4Heroes, was beyond special, different and peaceful. It inspired hope, love, safety, and support.
Woody, and every other person that we got to meet greeted us like long lost family. We had amazing dinners together, met other families and grew. We approached problems we did not dare to touch before. That experience changed all our lives for the better. They are all family to us. We will be visiting in the future once this situation we all are in clears up. We miss them. Because of this opportunity I got to see my grandparents who raised me from birth until my early teens, after nearly 5 years. I believe in miracles, and this was one.
Sadly I lost that Grandma a little over a week ago. My family is here and we aren't perfect, but we love and fight for one another always. We are better today. Better than what we were before these amazing opportunities entered our life. We are beyond grateful and amazed by everyone's love.
When we wrap back to where we started Michele Ladd is who made this happen for us. We thank you Michele. I am not at all surprised by your thoughtfulness, because you have the biggest heart.
We love you,
The Kaiser's (Ashley, Torey, Maya, Shyleigh, & Corbin)
Local Active Duty Service Members and Veterans who are having re-acclimation challenges and/or experiencing PTSD are paired with another Veteran.
The relationship is personalized for each pairing. The mentor will provide motivation, support, encouragement and the opportunity to access multiple resources as well as enjoying time with another Veteran. The mentor will assist with applying for benefits, help with transitioning, employment, essential needs, mental health or any needs the mentor can assist with.
National Veteran Resources visits American Legions, VFW's and Elks Lodges as a meeting place and we invite the local Military and Veteran community to come out and meet us to find out what their needs are. This is an informal meet and greet in hopes to match our hero with the perfect mentor.
We are a Facebook group:
We are mothers of the brave men and women who have served our country. Our children won the war but not the battle in their personal lives and they died by suicide.
As mothers, we mourn for our children. We are a group that supports, loves and encourages each other. We share our thoughts and feelings, post positive thoughts and uplift each other. None of us wants to be part of this group or family but we do all we can to go on.
If you know a mother or are a mother that had a son or daughter that was an active duty service member or veteran, please we urge you to join this group.
We fight to find resources in our communities to help these brave heroes and to help other mothers with their losses.
We raise awareness to Veteran PTSD and Suicide by getting out in the community and raising awareness, we hold group meetings, we do community fundraisers for awareness and we share the stories of the mothers who have lost a son or daughter to suicide.
In addition, Michele Ladd, Founder of National Veteran Resources travels the country in the Hero Mobile meeting the mothers who have lost a child and video interviews them to get their stories out there to help other grieving mothers and to raise awareness that PTSD is real.
Michele's first meeting with a mother who had just weeks previously lost her son to suicide. This mother could not go on camera so Michele spoke for her.
10 years ago, this mother lost her heart
Mama Lutz is a mother that has a story and will inspire us all.
